In everyday life, we constantly pass all sorts of inscriptions in streets and on paths. But who is willing to read them? Mostly we are just having lots of other things in mind...
But who does not equally know this other, uncomfortable situation: You are standing in front of a monument, an inscription, a table, and all you can read is the name of a person or a place. If the whole text is not merely unreadable... You are bursting with curiosity, but as the text is illegible or your knowledge of the foreign langage is insufficient, you will never understand the sense of the whole thing.
On these pages we want to give some help for this. Obviously we will not be able to cover the whole world at once, but let’s begin with the first steps...
