Welcome
The city of Pula / Pola is situated near the most southern point of Istria and has about 57,000 inhabitants (among which almost 5 % Italian speaking people). Pula / Pola has the ambiguous charm of an industrial city with a seaport and is overtowered by the Roman arena, whose exterior walls have lasted for many centuries in a great measure.

Bibliography
The following links allow you to have a look at what amazon is offering as for the mentioned expressions or books. After arriving in the on-line bookshop you can use its search function to look for any other words, titles, authors, or ISBN / ASIN numbers. There will never be any obligation to buy.
ATTENTION: Due to the dramatic events of those latest years (civil war, dissolution of Yugoslavia) you should only buy very recent editions of any touristic guides for this country. Unfortunately are various outdated editions still on the market.

Arrival by Public Transport
You can go to Pula / Pola by train or bus from many European cities via Triest or Zagreb.
For train links, see the on-line shop of your national railway companies or of the Croatian HŽ Putnički prijevoz.
For Croatian bus links see pulainfo.hr and balkanviator.com.
Note that the frequencies of busses and trains may vary depending on the season.
The Roman arena is situated near the northern part of the Pula seaport and few hundred meters south of the railway station. Go south (with the seaport on your right) and you'll see the arena very soon.
