The Buddenturm is the last high medieval fortification tower of the city of Münster.

If the inscription described here says that the Buddenturm is the only medieval tower preserved, this is not entirely correct because there is still the shorter, but enormously thicker Zwinger tower, which was built in 1525.
Nowadays the space formerly occupied by the medieval fortification ring is a very comfortable cycle way under shady trees round the center of the city.

Exiting the Münster railway station, go straight ahead crossing two large streets down to the crossing cycle way (called Promenade). Take the footpath along the cycle way to the right until you see the white Buddenturm at a little distance on your left.
