Areas of Interest <
Welcome
These pages briefly discuss a certain number of books I read in the last few years or just yesterday. Possibly this will inspire you to read or reread some of them, or give them as presents. Unless it just makes you renounce purchasing certain books... In fact I am realizing that these pages should rather be named "Reading Experiences" because they will also talk of books I did not really like. I think it is important not to suppress unpleasant experiences. But do always have your own experience since I may be wrong or your predilections may be different from mine... To offer you a better orientation, I disposed the books in a little villa that you can visit using the following map. |

And so to say behind the villa, there is a Political Note.

Dear English-speaking friends, please excuse me for the enormous delay of the library's English interface! The user interface of every language demands hard work - and I cannot do all things at once... You will find many more books using the German, French, or Italian interface. If you have problems of comprehension or particular interests, please tell me! Obviously I will do more (and faster) efforts for the sort of topics people are really interested in. |

Political Note
Writing my observations concerning certain books I have realized that many books should only be read by people having favorable ideas, or even sympathy, for the people described or for the author's origins, without closing their eyes on the more or less important weaknesses of the same people.
We must get accustomed to the idea that our sympathy or even love for another people (as well as for our own people) cannot always be without dark clouds and that we should remain well-disposed towards it - even if this does not please its current ennemies.
More than ever, mankind will not have a chance of creating or maintaining a decent life for the majority of ourselves (unfortunately will there always be a lot of poor people nevertheless...) if we do not succeed in maintaining a human contact with everybody – and this will not be possible in a climate of hate and collective recrimination.
